Dr. Emir Sandhu is a Managing Director at the Blue Venture Fund. He serves on the Board of Directors of Ultromics and Onc.AI and serves as a Board Observer for Octave Bioscience, Owl Insights, Perspectum, and Somatus. He helps manage the Fund’s investments in HeartFlow, PicassoMD, and previously Thrive (NASDAQ: EXAS).
Emir is a practicing physician and he maintains an adjunct faculty position in Radiology at Stanford University. He previously completed his Radiology residency at Stanford and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Emir was awarded the Moorefield Fellowship by the American College of Radiology and was honored with the departmental teaching award at Stanford University as selected by Stanford medical trainees.
Prior to BVF, Emir consulted on medical innovation initiatives at Google and co-founded OpenBiome, an organization which supports research on the human microbiome and has treated over 50,000 patients suffering from C. difficile colitis.
Emir earned an MD from Harvard Medical School, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and BA in Economics from The University of North Carolina as a Morehead-Cain Scholar.
